Farewell from this graduating student.
For you...
Is it sad to leave a place After dwelling there so long? Wiping a tear from my face Writing my last song
Meeting faces that became friends I got to know their smiles Images that never end Not even for a while
Finding pieces of their pasts Some pieces that were hidden Deep within each of their hearts But entry was not forbidden
Thanking you for showing me That people still have peace In the actions that I see I pray these never cease
William Blake opened my mind I now look beyond my cave My heart now knows that my eyes See heaven in each day
Comprehending all Blake wrote Would not have been achieved Without the help of a good bloke The talented MG
I leave these halls but never sigh The times we had were grand No more tears my eyes are dry And with applause I stand
Thanks guys.

Why does love come with a knife hidden behind its back And when it's time to let it in it makes its swift attack?
Why does love come with a catch after you sign the deal And when it's time to extend the terms a sad fate is what is sealed?
Why can't love just be love without its neighbour hate And when it's time to love someone it will never be too late?
Why is love the ending means that separates mankind From other species in the world that seem to get by fine?

The Leaf
I think it thought it had more time To dangle with the swinging vine But then the branch released its grip And on the breeze it dived and dipped
Slicing straight through crisp atmosphere It headed south like a soul tear Not knowing where to next call home Evicted from where it was sewn
Looking up towards the sun's gaze Still blushing from past fervent rays It turned away to face its path There's no more time to hang and bask
Ready to land with hopeful eyes Forgetting all yesterday's ties A smile wakes under its nose It doesn't leave but rather grows
The leaf accepts its resting place It snuggles tight with no complaints Who would have known? Who would have guessed? It landed on one of Eve's breasts

I went away for a week and came back to a can of worms on LJ. I was reading Mitch's LJ and I firstly want to congratulate him for generating the most replies I have ever seen on LJ. He should be given some sort of prize MG. But yeah, I came back to Sydney and noticed that Mitch had started a petition to get porn off LJ. This was a risky thing to do because Mitch seems to generate more backlash at his responses to LJ's than he does complements. I have backed him up before on his LJ about George Bush and John Howard (not because I like them) but because what Mitch said was correct in my book. I also agree with him on the issue with the porn on LJ. Mitch stood up for he thought was right. He got little support but he generated one of the best debates on LJ so far and he should be commended for it.
I stood in Mitch's corner because I think there is a lack of caring these days about moral/immoral behaviour in society. I can only speak about Australia because i haven't been overseas yet but the attitude by many seems to be "It's all just a bit of fun." Look, I am all for fun. I think some people know by now that I love to go out and run a muck. There are some things though that shouldn't be labelled as "fun" and porn on LJ is one of them. Porn in your time on your on hard-drive is one thing, that is one's choice. But porn in a community LJ is not kool. I think Mitch was right in sticking up for what he thought was a blatant disregard for other people's rights. We all have the right to be free from porn and XXX things but when it is posted on a community LJ then our right is taken away because it popped up straight away when we opened it.

Now did Mitch take the right approach? With the petition? I signed it so I am in favour of what he did. It is Mitch's LJ so he can post a petition if he wants. If Mitch went and posted it in the community LJ like the guy did with the porn then that is different. But Mitch didn't. He had the sense to fire up in his own backyard and this waves him of any complaints that he took the wrong option. He wrote it in his LJ which makes him void from complaints. One can choose to read Mitch's LJ. I choose to read it. He writes killer lyrics. If you don't wanna read his LJ then simply don't read it.
I noticed that James and I were pretty much the only two people that went into battle with Mitch. Is this disappointing? Ummm. Kind of. It is everyones perogative to say what they want but I just thought more people would have been disgusted or offended with porn in the community LJ. My 11 year old sister is always floating around behind me and if she saw that porn pop up on the screen when I opened the community LJ then the guy that posted it would have had a run-in with me. I do applaud the guy for finally putting the porn in a censored part of the LJ. He should have done that from the start instead of being sarcastic and trying to make Mitch look like an idiot. He failed in that attempt anyway. Mitch came out on top because DrMindBender did what Mitch asked. So Mitch was victorious.
I want to discuss a paragraph from Mitch's petition that really made some solid ground on this situation. Mitch kind of made the killer-blow with this paragraph and it is hard to argue against it. I think this what made the doc move the porn into a censored link.
"Maybe the problem with society is that people are too busy indulging themselves and ignoring the rights of others, hey? You wanna express yourself then go ahead and do it. You feel the need to post gratuitous images then go ahead and do it - but for God's sake do it in the privacy of your own journal and not in the public community where everyone, like it or not, has to look at it! I am not interested in your explanation of what you are talking about...I am interested in fulfilling the criteria of Michael's LJ component, and with not having to put up with that kind of filth while I'm doing it."

Rumble Young Mitch Rumble.
Mitch is right. Too many people indulge themselves with other things and have little sensitivity for other people's rights. Just a lack of compassion these days. "She'll be right. It's all a bit of fun." Forget that! It's good to have fun folks but lets not mistake fun for dirt. There is alot of dirt out there these days and we as uni students should be educated enough by now to know the difference.
What would you do if you asked your students to write a poem and then they show up with complementary porn with their homework? "Don't worry little johnny, it's all a bit of fun." Isn't that absurd? If we allow this to occur in a university then what will stop us doing it when we teach? I think more of the students in the class who are becoming teachers should have got on board and told the dude to get rid of the porn. Condoning it is just as bad as posting the porn in the first place.
So respect goes to Mitch. Glad you told the guy to pull his head in. You made a difference because he took the porn off the community LJ. Good on you mate.

This week I want to review a poem I found in Alicia's journal called "Steak and Cake?" I found this really funny because it is kind of my life during my football season written into a peom. The RSL, the VB, the steak and chips. Have you been stalking me girl? I am kind of glad it is all over now. I still go to the club to the bar but I don't have to train anymore haha. It's the good life. I will post the poem below and go through it. It's funny stuff.
“Steak and Cake?” Go down to the rsl Order your favourite meal Steak and chips Orange and poppyseed cake Make it a real date Have a beer The coast is clear Have more than two And the jokes on you Go home turn on the t.v Sip another v.b Come on you’ve worked all day Unwind your favourite way
Don’t worry what people say Because you’re a dinky dye Aussie mate That can handle anything put on your plate Steak and cake? Go on get out there see the land Go and watch any band And you’ll find something better Than in any letter A painting to make you think To make you open the blind eye and blink And see steak and cake stink
I think Alicia captured what she feels is colloquial Australia in this poem. Is this what Patrick White also did? Some might say yes. I like what Alicia wrote because she is pretty spot on with the RSL part of her poem. Playing football for a leagues club has shown me this. After a game it's straight to eat some steak cooked well done and then straight to the bar for more than a few VB's or whatever your choice is. Alicia you should play football. You would fit it well. The poem is funny and i like the lines "Orange and poppeyseed cake, make it a real date." It is a crack up. I can just imagine her reading this with a manly aussie accent. What a shazza!
Get stuck in Alicia! It's orange and poppey seed! Your fave!
I like the second stanza where it talks about having a few beers. It's exactly what happens. You can be talking away and downing the drinks and not realising that things are slipping away from you (like your coordination) and then a schooner might get dropped on the floor. Or maybe someone might fall off their barstool. Seen it happen.
I like her third stanza also how it says to enjoy being home after work with a cold beer. It's a stereotypical aussie male thing to do and Alicia somehow knows all about this. Hopefully she reads this review and posts a reply as to how she knows alot about aussie culture when she is a lebo bulldogs supporter haha.
The last stanza is what I liked most though. The poems mood shifts and it is time to get serious. Things get turned upside down. Alicia no longer speaks of the Aussie culture but of other culture within Australia. She speaks about getting out from the RSL and going to see the land. Go and listen to music or go and look at art. This is different culture to that of steak and cake and VB's down at the local RSL. Alicia says that it might open the blind eye and blink. I think this is a great line. She implies that people who go and drink away their time are blind to what is truly out there in the world. She is right in a way. Too much of one thing isn't really that great. It is repetitive and boring. One can be blind to this.
The last line of the whole poem sums it up in a neat little package. "And see steak and cake stink." Alicia lets us know that she isn't really in aggreance with Patrick White's steak and cake vision of Australia. She doesn't like it. She thinks it stinks. I commend her for saying this. I know other people in the class don't like White's portrayal of Australia in the book and it's good to see she stood up for herself.

Steak and Cake. You bloody rippper.
Good job Alicia.

BLAKE WEEK TEN: Patrick White, David Malouf and William Blake

Three great men. All have changed lives through words. Pretty decent thing to do with your life I think. I want to discuss them all and things they have said in my LJ this week.
"In all directions stretched the Great Australian Emptiness, in which the mind is the least of possessions, in which the rich man is the important man..." - David Malouf.
This is from the Malouf introduction in the handout MG gave us and it kept swirling around in my head. I started thinking about Blake's poem "London". Malouf discusses how White mentions that the mind is disregarded and things like money, power, gluttony and materialism thrives in Australia at that time. It remined me of London because Blake was warning people that their behaviour was going to be the end of them and that a change was needed. I'm not sure if White is suggesting the same thing here but he is pointing out the negatives in Australia at the time. I know he is saying they are negative by the last line of that section being...
"It was the exaltation of the 'average' that made me panic..."
William Blake was the type of guy that wanted the world to be a better place. His passion is seen in his art and poems. Blake was a visionary but he was also a mystic and a radical. He had more than one title. White knows this and this is why he uses Blake's quote to introduce his intentions in his story.

Pearls of Wisdom ol' Davie. Loving it.
I noticed similarities between White's writing and the character's of the Daughter's of Albion. I might be way off here. Or maybe I have some pearls of wisdom myself. Either way I am writing it haha. My links are below:
PART I is interesting. Where Miss Hare is walking and the car passes her on the road.
"...but their minds embraced almost nothing of what their flickering eyes saw." (pg 12).
When I read this I thought of Theotormon. How Theotormon had the truth right infront of him but didn't see it. His mind embraced nothing of what his eyes saw. "The eye sees more than the heart knows." Theotormon saw what happened but it didn't register with him. He only embraced his own self-deluded emotions.
Am i making sense?

Looking sharp Whitey...
Another quote I found quite interesting was also in PART I. I think PART I had many insightful quotes or ideas that show White's connection to Blake.
"The fragment, it appeared, possessed for him a greater distinction than the whole."
White is describing Miss Hare's father here. I think this shows a good perception to have of the world. It is true that all the small, unnoticable things are the things that make up the whole world. If we stopped and looked at them we would realise that. It reminded me of the "eternity in a grain of sand" poem by Blake. I think it is great that Miss Hare has adopted this attitude and stops to appreciate nature on her travels home. It tells me that I need to get out of the house more and breathe in the fresh air...

And last but not least...
I found some text that really reminded me of a connection between Miss Hare and Oothoon.
"Miss Hare, whose eyes were always probing, fingers trying, would achieve the ecstacy of complete, annihilating liberation without any such immersion." (p12).
I just think the link between the two characters became stronger when I read this. The "liberation of women" theme comes through here for me and Miss Hare doesn't seem to be caught up in society's gossip or labels of other people. She will be the ruler of her own system and not follow someone elses.
Ok that is all for this week.

BLAKE WEEK NINE REVIEW: Kath Dunn

I was captured by the quote in Kath Dunn's post this week and knew I had to review it for my LJ. I like the fact that Kath is bringing her experience and past into her LJ and comparing to Blake. I'm not the only one that does this and it's a relief. I hope that she continues doing it because I enjoyed it.
This is extremely parallel to Blake's view on life. Like kath notes, Blake wasn't very supportive of the church but that doesn't mean he wasn't supportive of God. I personally believe in God but I just haven't been to church a whole lot this year. It doesn't mean I don't support God. I strongly believe that the quote kath used in her LJ is a good pieve of advice for life. I want to break it into sections and see if I can explain what I think about the quote as a whole.
God has a purpose for your life and no one can take your place. We need time to dream, time to remember, and time to reach the infinite. Time to be. - Gladys Taber
"God has a purpose for your life and no one can take your place." - I like the last part of this line. I believe that no one can in fact take anyone's place. Everyone is unique. If i tried to take kath's place I would fail miserably because she is way too funny for me (i'll let you think that kath haha). As for God having a purpose for us. I believe that we are the makers of our destinies. I think we are given the chance to make a white-hot go of it and where we end up is our choice. I don't know if God has it all mapped out for us. I think God gives us the opportunity and then if we take it then it's our choice. Where we are tomorrow is up to us. God will watch us and judge us later.
"We need to dream, time to remember, and time to reach the infinite." - Well can you get anymore like Blake in this line? It is great stuff. I love it when things in life bring upon nostalgia and I get taken back to a time when I younger and I get trapped in this past life for maybe a few minutes in a day. Like for example: the smell of rain takes me back to my childhood and I remember that whenever it rained at school my mum would have hot tea and biscuits and cake waiting at home for us. I would sit around for 5 minutes with my family and talk about eachother's day and then when the tea was finished we would all get up and do something else. This takes care of the time to remember part.
I also think we do need time to dream. This can be dangerous though because if all we do is dream then we aren't living. I do believe though that in moderation it is good to dream and think of what could be and then go and try and do it. There is no harm in it. That is what our imagination is for. Think about things beyond us for a while. Dream about being somewhere else. Dream about the future after uni. Where will be? Dream of that place and time. It can be scary to some. Exciting to others.
As for time to reach the infinite. Does this line open up like a thousand doors in anyone elses mind? This line can mean so many things. We do need time to reach the dreams that I spoke of earlier. This can mean anything. It can mean to own a house. To own a car. To own a license. To get a job. To travel overseas. To have a family. To meet someone famous. To be someone famous. To snog someone famous. To be famous and snog a random and really make their day. Dreams can be anything. They are infinite. Blake speaks of this. Life goes beyond what we see. It goes beyond what we smell. Beyond what we hear. Beyond our touch. Beyond our taste. We can perceive much more with our minds and imagine things that only we dare dream about. Who would know what kath dreams about if she doesnt share it? No one. That is what is so good about imagination and dreaming. It is ours only. God has given us all this private wonderland of thought and it is our choice if we want to share it or not. With a friend. A partner. A wife/husband. A parent. A son/daughter. we can reach the infinite in our minds and dreams, it is whether we step out of this and actually go for it that makes the difference. Blake did this. We are still talking about the guy today. He reached the infinite he dreamed about.
"Time to be" - This line is a nice ending that sums up the whole quote. It relates to the poem London I think because in that poem no one is really taking time to be anything. They are consumed in their lives of work and distractions. They aren't taking time out to be themselves and reach for anything, let alone the infinite. I think this is why trying to become a teacher is good. I will enjoy the teaching side but I will also enjoy the holidays. It will be my time to be. Time to get away from "London" as Blake says and escape into my own time and place. Can't wait.

Remember to take time to relax and escape.
Thanks Kath.

Instead of doing a post this week and talking about what I think of Blake or Patrick White, I thought I would throw a few questions in the pot and see what happens. I will try and answer these questions in a different post later on.
Does anyone see a similarity in the characters Oothoon and Miss Hare?
Does anyone see a similarity in Blake's outlook on life and Miss Hare's character?
Does anyone else hate Bromion?
Does anyone think Bromion should be excused for his actions?

Does anyone think Patrick White's sexuality is noticeable in his writing?
What do you think about Patrick White's portayal of Australia (Sarsaparilla)?
How far do I live away from where Riders in the Chariot is set?
What did Patrick White receive a Nobel Prize for?
I know we all have discussions to do and answer. So this post might get ignored. If you could even just answer one question that would be good.

BLAKE WEEK EIGHT REVIEW: Dyana Ferreira

I want to do a review of something I took away from a post Dyana did a while back. She did a post about meeting her cousins in Portugal a few years ago and how she still stays in touch. I think that is a great thing Dyana. Family is important. It reminded me of my experience when I met my cousins from England. They visited in July last year. Mike was 17 and Del was 15. They were a bag of laughs.

I enjoyed the questions they asked my brothers and I. My cousins were fascinated in the language barrier between Britians and Australians. When I say "language barrier" I mean different terms we use for different things. Some of the questions and answers are below.
Mike: What do you guys call McDonalds? Us: Maccas. Mike: We call it "Micki-D's".
Mike: Do you guys call it football? Us: Nah Soccer. Mike: We call it football. Us: duh
Us: What do you call Rugby League? Del: Pussyball Us: Hahahahahahaha
Del: Do you call them tits? Us: Yeah. Del: We also call them "knockers." Us: Hahahahahaha
Us: What do you guys say when you like something? Mike: That's well good.
Del: What do say when you see a pretty girl? Us: She's hot. Del: We say "she's fit." Us: Yeah? Del: Yeah. Pete your girlfriend is fit. Do you think she'll kiss me goodbye? Us: Haha Yeah of course mate. Del: That's well good.
Us: Have you ever had a Tim Tam? Mike: No. Do you have any? Us: Yeah here you go. Mike: These are well good. Us: Yeah they are fit haha. Mike: The most popular biscuits in Britain are called "Penguins".
Us: Sorry if we take the piss out of you alot. Your accent is funny though. Del: Take this piss? What does that mean? Us: Sorry if we tease you. Del: Oh we call that "taking the mickey." Taking the piss sounds odd. Us: Well what the hell is a "mickey" then? Haha

Is it this Mickey?
I think this experience showed me that even though we both speak English, we use it differently. My twin brother Phil went over to England a few months later to visit Mike and Del and they asked him straight away, "Did you bring Tim Tams? And are you still playing Pussyball?" They are funny. I was suppose to go and visit them in January this year. I had paid for the flight and everything. I was going with my girlfriend at the time. We broke up though a few months before leaving and I had to cancel the trip. I lost about $1400. Oh well. I will eventually get to England one day. Let that be a lesson. Be absolutely certain you are with the right person before you commit to a big trip or expensive investment. It could turn pear-shaped and then you lose out.
Does this relate to Blake? I don't think Dyana intended her post to be about Blake. I think she was just sharing an experience. I see some links though. Blake used a certain language in his poems and luckily people didn't understand what he was writing because he could have been in strife. There was a language barrier of some kind. Blake used metaphors and imagery that were not easily interpreted. He was a smart bloke. In class we still have troubles working out what he was saying. This just reminds me of the different words we use in comparison to my british cousins. I also believe that we live in a small world in some respects too. We had heaps in common with Mike and Del too. Knowledge on sport entertainment and music. We might be separated by alot of land and sea but we have similar interests and hobbies. That is why I think Blake's poems relate to people around the globe. I think the poem "London" can relate to other places than London. The message and language is universal.
Thanks for sharing Dyana.

BLAKE WEEK EIGHT: "There is a first time for everything."

] |
My mother gave me this picture of Jesus Christ when I was young and for as long as I can remember it has been stuck to the end of my bed. I wake up and one of the first things I see is Jesus starring straight at me. I guess it is a good way to remind me that what I do each day will be judged by someone or something. You don't even have to be religious to relate to this. Everyone is judged by someone or something whether they like it or not. Am I religious? I guess it depends on the definition. I believe in God. I have no doubt that a higher being is responsible for the universe. I haven't been to church in a while though. Does that make me a sinner? I guess I make time to write these posts every second day, so why can't I make time to go to church? I am a bit lost these days...

The reason I am writing about this in my week eight post is because it relates to William Blake. I would never have known this however if it wasn't for my three year old niece Charlotte-Rose. She was on a destructive path one afternoon and stumbled into my room when I wasn't home. She pulled the picture of Jesus off my bedhead and it subsequently ripped in half. Is she a little Satanist? I don't think so. She is just really, really full of beans.
I walked in my room and found the picture and immediately shouted "CHARLOTTE-ROSE GET YOUR LITTLE BACKSIDE IN HERE!" She casually strolled in and said "I didn't do it." I said "Do what? I never said you did anything." Then she had the face of someone who just got BUSTED! She quickly said "Sorry Pete. I have to go now. Bye." Then she ran off down the hallway. She is a little menace but I still love her. I picked up the picture and noticed it had a prayer on the back of it. I never knew this because the prayer was on the back of the picture and that was stuck to the bedhead. I read it and I thought of Blake straight away. About the 5 senses and comprehending things. Bloody can't escape uni for the life of me! The prayer is below. I think this is a first for me and maybe the first in the class. I haven't read too many prayers in anyone's LJ's before.
"Father all Merciful, let those who hear and hear again yet never understand, hear your voice this time and understand it is You the Holy of Holies; open the eyes of those who see and see, yet never perceive, to see with their eyes this time Your Holy Face and Your Glory. Place your fingers on their heart so that their heart may open and understand Your Faithfulness, I pray and ask You all these things, Righteous Father, so that all nations be converted and be healed through the Wounds of your Beloved Son, Jesus Christ; Amen."

I was silent for a while after reading this. It reminded me of Blake. Theotormon should read this prayer and he will see himself in it quite alot. "Those who hear and hear again, yet never understand." Theo, that is you all over. Oothoon told you so many times that she was liberated and that she wasn't dirty but you never understood her. You needed someone to touch your heart so that it could open. You buried your heart though mate so deep in your chest that scuba teams would have been needed to retrieve it. I don't think anyone's finger is going to reach it. Not even John Hopoate's miracle digit.
I think Bromion can learn from this prayer also. "The eyes of those who see and see, yet never perceive." Bromion you can see Oothoon with your own two eyes. Don't look at her through the eyes of society. She is not a harlot. You may want her to be a harlot so that when you rape her you won't have guilt but that is a coward's way out. Perceive that a woman may be a "woman" first instead of a "hooker". You might even experience what love is if you give this a try. Imagine that? Bromion walking down the aisle with one of the Daughters of Albion. Well he would have to be careful because some of them are probably his daughters. I'm guessing Bromion has raped more than one woman. Poor Oothoon. What number was she?
Speaking of Oothoon she can also relate to this prayer. May she be healed. She seems to be still in woe at the end of the poem. She is liberated and strong but still seems sad. May she be healed. May her heart be touched and opened to the possibility that she will be okay. If women were treated like this in Blake's time I feel really sorry for them. Poor souls.

This prayer was a wake-up call for me too though. I gotta get myself in order. Start appreciating what I have and being thankful for it. If that means going back to church then so be it. I'm not ashamed to say it. I know it hurts my mum also when she sees me not attending sunday service. I wanna stop hurting her too. She does so much for me, I can do this small thing for her. It's funny actually that she was the one that gave me the picture in the first place and now she is the person I speak of now in this experience. She is a top lady. If you get to meet her you will want to take her home with you. She will do anything for you.

BLAKE WEEK SEVEN REVIEW - Fadia's reply to my Bromion post...

Yo Fadia,
Thanks for the reply. I hope I answer your questions successfully...
I know people can be rehabilitated. In my first paragraph I talk about King Lear changing his stripes and how it was a shame he died soon after. I know I also said I didn't like him but "thats life". Not everyone likes everyone. Reading The Poison Tree tells us that. But I see your point. Of course people can be rehabiliated. There are plenty of professionals around to take care of that. But Bromion? He didn't seem at all remorseful for what he did Fadia. He just made excuses for what he did. "One law for the lion and ox." That is crapola. Would I make a harsh judge? Who knows? I think plenty of people agree with me though about Bromion. Alot of the girls in class were getting fired up about him. This is the part where people post comments agreeing with me...hehe kidding.

Lear forget about whatever it is you are going crazy over! There is a big, scary-looking, poison tree behind you! Run damn you!
As for Bromion being a "product of society", if this is so then why didn't Theotormon rape anyone? He is a male from the same society. Why did he keep his utensil in his pants? This is the part of your argument I don't fully understand. I know you are saying that Bromion was brought up in a society where females were disrespected and seen as "strumpets." If that is the case though then Theotormon was also brought up in the same society, why wasn't he doing the same thing? He did the opposite. He went from a butterfly to a caterpillar. He went backwards in the evolutionary process. He hid himself and moped and groaned kicking the dirt around him.

From this, to that. Theotormon you poor sod.
Oothoon doesn't blame Bromion much at all because I think she is deadset scared crapless of him. He just raped her. Why would she be having a go at him? To provoke him to do it again? Bromion means nothing to Oothoon so that is another reason why she didn't focus on him much and spent all her time chasing Theotormon. I think that makes sense. If she was scared of him though, she didn't show it much. She seemed like a strong woman after it happened. She seemed liberated. But who knows, she might have deepdown been scared of him. Makes sense to be afraid of a man who just raped you. Bromion had the type of unapologetic attitude that he would have probably raped Oothoon again if he had the chance. So it's best she stayed away from him and never really mentioned him after that. I think Bromion should eat a long, hard, brownish-blackish turd for breakfast. His breath smells like that anyway.
That is how I see it anyway. Hope that helps.

P.S. Such an appropriate song choice. Oothoon = Love and Bromion = Hate. You suck Bromion.
P.P.S. Apologies for graphic description at end of last paragraph. I just think very little of Bromion.

The Poison Tree II
If I had my time again would I choose to be your friend? Or would I choose to be your foe and not let things go?
Would I hold my wrath's breath 'til the blue coloured its death? Or would I warm my wrath's desires feeding black coles to its fires?
Would I learn the lesson dealt and watch my wrath melt? Or would I ignore the past and help my wrath last?
If you had your time again would you choose to be my friend? Or would you choose to be my foe until the final blow?

I don't normally get on LJ and bark at anyone or anything in particular but what happened at uni yesterday at 3pm was an absolute disgrace and really pissed me off.
Some idiot (all I know is that she was female) in the SRC office got on the PA and said the following:
"Attention all students. News has just arrived that The Crocodile Hunter has died (laughs). Steve Irwin is dead (laughs). Crike'!"
(Pause)
"Attention all students. A minute silence will be had for Steve Irwin. He was killed by a Stingray (laughs). This is not a joke (laughs). Crike'!"
(End Transmission)
I don't think I'm over-reacting about this either. I was thinking about going into the SRC office and tearing off some heads. I know some of the people in there and I wouldn't care if I knew them. They would have copped it. I didn't go in there though. I decided to cool off. I'm still pissed off though and if I feel like this on wednesday when I'm at uni I'm going in the SRC office and finding out who it was.

Steve, may God be with your family in their time of need.
Whoever the ignorant girl was, she obviously has no respect for death. How can one respect life if they don't respect death? It is not a joke or something to be laughed at.
Steve Irwin wasn't just an entertainer. He was a father. He had a wife and two kids. He did all he could to provide for them. He was also a patriot of Australia and believed in our nation. Okay, he was a clown sometimes on camera but he was always giving us a plug overseas and was happy to be from this country. He also cared about the planet and didn't take it for granted. What more can you ask for? This is what the twit on the microphone needs to realise. I don't think they know what it is be patriotic or to be a parent. I bet the girl is the type of person that was born in Australia but claims their nationality is something else. Ignorant idiots like that don't deserve to be representing our student council.
Shame on you!
